What IS THIS?

Fungi as your Futurist is a playbook posing new ways to design regenerative futures, inspired by nature’s intelligence. It invites usyou to be more like a mushroom. It aims to inspire imgination and action for shaping good futures, for humans and our more-than-human neighbours.

Image description: A close-up photograph of several turkey-tail mushrooms, growing alongside each other. Each mushroom is shaped like a fan, with concentric rings of colour, from oranges to blues to browns and yellows.

  • Within a carousel of images, this is a close-up photograph of orange mushrooms growing on a log. The photograph is taken from the underside of the mushrooms, showing gills in straight lines growing from the central stems of each mushroom.

    Playbook + Toolkit

We’ve designed a set of free tools to put these principles into practice: a playbook, a workshop outline and deck of prompting cards. No strings attached.

  • Within a carousel of images, this is a grainy close-up of the underside of a white mushroom, showing net-like pores.

    Working Session

2 hr guided working session, seeding spores for imagining integration of fungi principles in your world.

  • Within a carousel of images, this image is a landscape photograph of a rural countryside hill in Uganda, dotted with small cottages, agricultural plots and trees. The hill is green and lush. Above is clear blue sky with a central white cloud.

    Field Trip

A day outdoors in nature: your in-person immersion into nature-centric thinking, integrating fungi-inspired regenerative principles in your world.

How to organise like mycelium.
How fungi are impacting our futures.
How mushrooms have a branding issue.
Decentralising foresight, just like fungi.
Rot & regeneration: The light & the dark of mushrooms.
Why fungi are the ultimate futurists.
What mushrooms can teach us about futures.
And what they can teach us being good brands / good researchers.
